Questions

Will converting WebM to GIF keep sound or smooth colors?

No sound is kept. GIF supports only 256 colors per frame, so gradients may change. Choose a short clip and check the result; WebM decoding depends on browser codec support.

How can I make a smaller GIF?

Use a shorter clip, a smaller width or a lower frame rate. GIF supports only 256 colours per frame, so photos may lose subtle colour detail.

What are the limits?

Clips can be up to 60 seconds, 600 frames and 1280 pixels wide, with up to 160 million total output pixels. Reduce width, frame rate or duration for larger clips.

Does the GIF keep audio?

No. GIF cannot contain audio. The animation loops forever, and frame delays are rounded to GIF's 10 millisecond precision.

Is my video uploaded?

No. Video decoding and GIF encoding happen on your device.
