About this tool
Remove PDF author, title, dates and catalog XMP metadata in your browser without redrawing the pages. PDFs carry hidden details: the author's name, the software that made the file, creation and edit dates, and sometimes an XMP block with more. This tool clears all of it and keeps the pages unchanged.
Questions
Are my files uploaded?
No. The PDF is read and rewritten by code running in your browser tab. The browser may download processing code when you first run the tool, but the file itself is not uploaded.
Which metadata is removed?
Title, author, subject, keywords, creator, producer, creation date, modification date, and the XMP metadata stream attached to the document catalog.
Does it change the content of the pages?
No. Text, images, links and form fields are copied as they are. Only the metadata is cleared.
Does it work on password-protected PDFs?
Not on encrypted files. Remove the password first, then clean the metadata.
