Split PDF

Split a PDF into single pages or custom page ranges in your browser. Download the parts one by one or as a ZIP.

How it works

  1. 1Choose a PDF file.
  2. 2Pick every page to its own file, or enter ranges such as 1-3, 5, 8-10.
  3. 3Download the parts. Several parts come as one ZIP file.

About this tool

Cut a PDF into separate files, either one per page or by the page ranges you enter. The original file is not changed, and the parts are built on your device.

Questions

How do I write page ranges?

Use page numbers and ranges separated by commas, such as 1-3, 5, 8-10. Each entry becomes its own PDF.

Can ranges overlap?

Yes. The range 1-3, 3-5 makes two files, and both contain page 3.

What happens if I enter a page that does not exist?

The tool shows an error that gives the page count of your file. Nothing is downloaded until the ranges are valid.

Are my files uploaded?

No. The PDF is split by code running in your browser tab.

docshift is a collection of free PDF, image, video, audio and data tools. File processing runs in your browser; files are never uploaded.
