HEIC to PNG
Convert iPhone HEIC and HEIF photos to PNG in your browser. Convert several files at once. Nothing is uploaded.
How it works
- 1Choose one or more HEIC or HEIF photos.
- 2For JPG, set the quality. Higher values keep more detail and make larger files. PNG has no quality setting.
- 3Convert, then download the files one at a time or as a ZIP.

About this tool
PNG stores the decoded pixels without a quality setting, so the file is larger than a JPG of the same photo. Use it when an editor or upload form needs PNG, or when you want to avoid another round of lossy compression.
Convert HEIC and HEIF photos to JPG in your browser so apps and upload forms can read them. iPhones save photos as HEIC by default, and many websites, forms and apps still reject that format. This tool converts HEIC photos to standard JPG files on your device, with a quality setting for the output.
Questions
Does HEIC to PNG avoid losing more photo detail?
PNG stores the decoded pixels without another lossy compression step. It cannot recover detail already lost in HEIC, and EXIF date, GPS and camera tags are not copied. PNG photographs are usually larger than JPG versions.
Can I convert HEIC to JPG on Windows without installing an app?
Yes. Open this tool in a current Windows browser, choose your HEIC files and download the converted JPGs. The decoder runs locally; not every HEIC encoding is supported. Renaming the extension alone does not convert an image.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. The HEIC file is decoded by code running in your browser tab, so the photo never leaves your device. The browser may download processing code when you first run the tool, but the file itself is not uploaded.
Does the converted file keep the date, location and camera details?
No. The output has no EXIF metadata, so the capture date, GPS location and camera model are not copied. Keep the original HEIC if you need them.
What happens when a HEIC file contains several images?
Some HEIC files hold more than one image. Each one is saved as its own JPG or PNG file, numbered after the original name, such as IMG_1234-1.jpg and IMG_1234-2.jpg.
Why did a file fail to convert?
The file may not be a HEIC or HEIF image, or the decoder may not support it. JPG, PNG and other images that browsers already read do not need converting.
