About this tool

Each page becomes one PNG file, which keeps text and line art sharp. Choose a resolution. Pages from a longer PDF download together as a ZIP.

Convert each PDF page to a JPG or PNG image at your chosen resolution in your browser. Each page is drawn to its own image at the resolution you pick. A one-page PDF downloads as a single image. Longer PDFs download together as a ZIP.

Questions

Is PNG better for PDF text and diagrams?

PNG avoids lossy image compression, which suits sharp text and line art. Each page is still an image, not selectable PDF text. Higher DPI increases size and the 16-megapixel page cap can lower the effective resolution.

Are my PDFs uploaded?

No. The PDF is opened and drawn by code running in your browser tab. The files never leave your device.

Which resolution should I choose?

72 DPI is the size of the page on screen and produces the smallest files. 150 DPI is readable on screen and in email. 300 DPI is the usual choice for printing. Pages are capped at 16 megapixels, so very large pages come out at a lower DPI than selected.

JPG or PNG?

JPG files are smaller, and the quality setting trades size for detail. PNG is lossless, which keeps text and line art sharp, but the files are larger.

Can it convert password-protected PDFs?

No. Remove the password first, then convert the file.
